The documentation drain

You didn't train in law to format documents.

Dictate, wait for transcription, review the draft, reformat, chase the version that's actually final — the path from a conversation to a finished document is long, and most of it isn't legal work. SpeechLive Legal shortens that path without taking you, or your support staff, out of control of the result.

How SpeechLive Legal works

Three steps from spoken words to a document you'd sign off.

STEP 01

Dictate or upload

Record a consultation, client meeting or case notes on your SpeechMike, pocket recorder or phone. Attach PDFs, images and documents so the draft reflects the whole matter — not just the audio.

STEP 02

The AI drafts into your template

SpeechLive Legal maps your words and attached files to your chosen template, extracts the key facts, and places them under the correct headings and clauses — a formatted first draft in your firm's own style.

STEP 03

Review, refine, approve

Edit by hand or in plain language — "shorten section 3", "add a clause on liability". Then export to Microsoft Word or PDF, or send it to your typist inside the SpeechLive workflow. Nothing leaves without your sign-off.

More than an AI note-taker

Built for legal documents, not generic summaries.

Most AI scribes do one thing: listen and produce a note. SpeechLive Legal sits inside a full document-creation platform, so the audio, transcript, draft and review stay together as one job.

Structured document generation

Turns one recording into a formatted draft — mapped to your headings, clauses and house style.

Multimodal input

Combine your dictation with PDFs, images and documents for a richer, more complete first draft.

Natural-language editing

Tell the assistant to shorten a section or add a clause. No manual reformatting, meaning preserved.

Custom template builder

Describe a template in plain English, save it, and reuse it — file notes, letters, memos, affidavit drafts.

Human review, always

Every draft is prepared for a person to check. It supports your professional judgement — it doesn't replace it.

Connected to SpeechLive

Your dictation, transcription and typist worklist stay intact. Legal AI works on top — it doesn't replace them.

One audio source

One recording. Many legal documents.

A single dictation can hold instructions, client history, advice and next steps. The same recording can produce whichever document you need — each in your template.

01

File note

Matter-ready, correctly structured.

02

Attendance note

Who, what, advice, actions.

03

Case summary

The matter at a glance.

04

Witness note

Captured from the interview.

05

Letter of advice

In your firm's house style.

06

Memo

Internal, structured, concise.

07

Client email

Tone adjusted for the reader.

08

Affidavit draft

A first draft to work from.

Security & confidentiality

Client confidentiality, engineered in.

Questions, answered

SpeechLive Legal AI Assistant — FAQ.

When is SpeechLive Legal launching in Australia?
SpeechLive Legal AI Assistant is arriving in Australia and New Zealand in 2026. Register your interest and Voice Recognition Australia will arrange an early demonstration and an obligation-free trial as soon as it's available to your firm.
Where is my data stored, and is it used to train AI?
Your data is hosted on Microsoft Azure and stored within your region — it isn't moved outside your designated storage location. AI processing happens in a secure, isolated Azure environment and is deleted once complete. Your data isn't shared with public AI services and isn't used to train AI models.
Does it replace my typist or legal assistant?
No. SpeechLive Legal keeps the author and typist workflow you already use. The AI prepares a first draft; your assistant, PA or typist can review, correct and finalise it. The audio, transcript and draft stay together so nothing is lost in the handover.
Which practice and document management systems does it integrate with?
SpeechLive integrates with Actionstep and iManage today, with Clio and NetDocuments coming. Voice Recognition Australia can advise on the right configuration for your firm during implementation.
Do I stay in control of the final document?
Always. Every output is drafted for your review and nothing is finalised or sent without your approval. SpeechLive Legal is built to support your professional judgement, not to make decisions for you.
What does it cost?
SpeechLive Legal is an add-on to a SpeechLive subscription. Pricing depends on the number of authors and typists and the plan you choose. Register your interest for a tailored quote and a walkthrough with the Voice Recognition Australia team.
