Differences Between Premium 13 and Professional 15

Dragon Professional has the version 15 speech engine which is vastly improved over the Premium v13 engine. An average user will immediately see 20% fewer errors with Dragon Professional 15 than Premium. Dragon professional has the deep learning algorithm built into it which is a type of machine/artificial intelligence.
Dragon 15 runs much faster on the same computer than Premium 13 would. In other words you can use Dragon 15 on a slower computer than Dragon Premium 13 and still have very good performance. This is important to note for tablet and notebook Windows computers. Dragon 15 has a much more efficient speech engine and therefore uses fewer resources and enabling more speed/accuracy on slower hardware.
Professional 15 is designed for Windows 10 and Office 365. With the frequent updates of Windows 10, it is important to be using Dragon 15 because there are some significant compatibility issues with Dragon 13 - as it was not originally designed for Windows 10.
Dragon Professional 15 is targeted at people who need to use speech recognition for most of their day to complete business-related activities or to improve the accessibility of Microsoft Windows by voice.
You might need to create an entire Word document, or dictate a new webpage for the company website, enter data into Microsoft Excel, execute a series of repetitive tasks, enter data into an online database, or to reply to dozens of emails each day. These sorts of activities can be done much quicker with Dragon Professional. This is because Dragon 15 has a larger vocabulary which can be managed to suit the individual’s requirements and the corporate needs. You can create voice commands with Dragon Professional.
Imagine if you have limited mobility due to an injury from an accident. With Dragon Professional you could create a command that moves the mouse and clicks on a specific button in the database program that you use at work. You could not create this command with Dragon Premium. You would have to use a mouse and this may not be possible for many people. So upgrade Dragon professional today.
Imagine if you’re a lawyer who often repeats the same series of paragraphs for a particular type of legal case. It can be very onerous to continually retype or even cut-and-paste the same words over and over again . With Dragon Professional you can assign a voice command that will generate this standard response with the simple phrase. Premium is licenced for one user on one computer only.
Volume / site licencing is not available for Premium.
Premium cannot create custom powerful windows voice commands.
Premium cannot save audio with dictation so you cannot correct later or hand off dictation to 3rd party for corrections – only professional does this. This is extremely useful when using a digital recorder.
Smaller vocabulary – Premium is less powerful and not as accurate as professional.
Premium does not have custom vocabulary options like medical and legal.
Dragon Professional 15
Professional is licensed for one user on up to four (4) computers. Use Dragon Professional on your home PC, work PC and laptop. Etc.
About 20% more accurate than Premium 13.
Have audio corrected and transcribed later by a 3rd party - a very popular and useful function. Simply hand off your digital recorder to support staff and have them process the audio through Dragon & make the corrections!
Professional has a larger vocabulary and more powerful features & commands
Control most PC function by voice. i.e. " new email" "reply to email" "print document"
Create or import sophisticated and powerful voice commands to automate routine tasks such as standard responses to emails or referral letters.
Professional has a larger vocabulary than Premium. If you use a sophisticated vocabulary then you need Dragon Professional.
Dragon Medical One is more advanced and accurate than Dragon 15 for medical professionals and includes 60 specialist medical vocabularies.
Dragon Medical One Works with electronic health record (EHR) software like Medical Director and Genie (Pro 15 does not).
USB microphone options
There’s little point getting the most powerful and accurate speech recognition software available today only to then lose accuracy through low-quality audio input – the included mic is only a very basic starting point and will not deliver the full capabilities of the program – only one of our approved USB microphones will.
Overseas versions: Most are not Australian accent versions (all of ours are) and you will not receive support and backup. Once you allow for freight and GST our prices are on parity or we are cheaper than the US. Overseas products are also often pirated versions.
