The Olympus DS 7000 digital voice recorder (also known as the digital dictaphone or notetaker) is the top-of-the-line model from the market leader in digital dictation, Olympus. The metal body of the DS 7000 ensures that it is durable enough to last you a long time and is the device and quality look and feel that we have come to expect of Olympus’ products.

The DS 7000 accepts both SD card (included) and microSD card memory so  you never have to worry about being caught without space for your dictations. If you are familiar with older style taped based Dictaphones then you will feel right at home with the sliding switch control that sets the DS7000 above its rivals. You can fast forward, rewind, stop and start all from the one control which means that it is easy to use when holding it in your hand – you don’t even need to look down at the device.

The Olympus DS-7000 includes everything you need to record high quality digital files in the industry standard DSS and DS2 formats and is bundled with a docking cradle, a case, power adaptor and a rechargeable long-life lithium battery.

Transferring the files from your Dictaphone is as easy as dropping it into the included cradle. Then, you simply copy the files over like a regular USB hard drive or use the new Olympus Dictation Management Software (ODMS) that is included in the package to setup automatic downloads, modify the files or transmit them (by either e-mail or FTP) to your transcriptionist or admin staff.

Not only is the Olympus DS7000 compatible with Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software(sold separately) but it is the model we recommend for the best accuracy. The DS7000s high quality microphone gives excellent reproduction which means less time correcting and training your speech recognition software – simply import the files and in no time at all you have an accurate transcription.

Worried about the security of your recordings? Well the DS7000 can be setup with a pin code to protect your sensitive files and uses a high level 256kb encryption algorithm so that even if someone gets their hands on your recorder they won’t be able to use the files.

The large back-lit colour LCD screen gives you fast and easy access to all the information you could want and three customisable function buttons on the face of the device can be used to give you fast and easy access to more advanced features as you need them.
