Why should I upgrade to Dragon Premium 13?
There are several reasons why we recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of Dragon Premium 13.
But we will give you the bottom line up front:
Dragon 13 is faster, a lot more accurate and easier to use. It works with more applications including social media and email. The means that you'll end up using Dragon a lot more during the day for a lot more activities.
In the Voice Recognition Australia office, we're using Dragon about twice as much as we used to, because we can dictate all of our email correspondence, quotations, word documents, website updates and social media promotions using voice dictation.
It is also easier to set up new users, because they don't have to train and it's easier to manage audio sources if you have different microphones. It's much faster and we're saving a lot of time, because Dragon 13 doesn't make many mistakes.
Version 13 is a really useful office productivity tool. You don't know what you're missing out until you try it.
Further details on the Dragon Premium 13 upgrade:
It's considerably more accurate. Our experience over the last month of using 13 is it is just simply makes less mistakes. You can really notice the difference because you don't have to make as many corrections. This saves quite a bit of time and makes the program more enjoyable to use.
Faster response time. Dragon 13 is faster than version 11 or 12 on the same computer. Optimisations have meant that the program actually responds faster to your voice compared to previous versions. This makes the program more satisfying and more fluid to use.
You don't have to train the program anymore. Remember when you first set up version 11 and 12? You had to go through the voice enrolment and tediously read through several dozen paragraphs of text? You don't need to do that anymore. This is the first edition that does not require voice training. The program adapts to your voice as you use it. When you make corrections it improves. So the training is built into the program and is completely nonintrusive. Essentially, it trains itself as you use it. You don't need to do anything. This greatly simplifies using the program if you are setting up a new user.
There's a new DragonBar which automatically collapses out of the way. The DragonBar used to sit up the top of your screen, it still does, but it's far smaller and dynamically changes its shape meaning that it takes up a lot less space and is less intrusive.
Enhanced compatibility with Google Chrome and Firefox. You can now dictate directly into Google Chrome and Firefox. There are some basic commands available as well. This was not available in version 11 or 12.
Dragon works better with Gmail, Yahoo mail Outlook.com, Facebook and Twitter. It has improved compatibility and new commands are available. This makes it easier for you to communicate and use social media by voice.
Dragon is compatible with more audio devices, and its easier to manage which microphones you are using on the same profile. So it's easier to manage USB microphones, with wireless microphones and digital voice recorders. It's easy to run the audio setup to change devices.
Dragon's smart autoformatting options are improved, you can easily tell it to do things, like put a double space after a full stop. Formatting numbers and abbreviations are easier to manage.
