The Olympus DR-2100 has been designed for prolonged usage, with a smooth and rounded back for comfortable hold, in addition to a carefully considered interface layout featuring a multi-functional slide switch for one-thumb operation. Even more the symmetrical design enables optimum handling for left and right-handed users.

Besides maximum ease of use and efficiency, this device is equipped with a low-noise directional microphone to reduce undesired background noises and ensure the best results in speech recognition and transcription.

The DR-2100 is engineered to work best with Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software and delivers perfect results that are more accurate than ever. A powerful and integrated speaker with digital volume control supports a clear playback.

The Olympus DR-2100 heralds the dawn of a new generation for professional dictation needs in stationary environments. The revamped, stylish design of the Directrec range significantly improves ergonomics to enhance operability, along with better microphone performance.

The latest Directrec generation expands the Olympus “simple, reliable, flexible and secure” design concept, by augmenting it with “integration” – boosting productivity to new levels. The Directrec 2nd generation thereby evolves to a total system solution that includes device configuration software and a Software Development Kit (SDK) for IT administrators and systems integrators. Dictating as well as using the software is extremely easy thanks to its thoughtfully positioned slider and button layout. Furthermore, the new, low-noise directional microphone ensures that unwanted background noises won’t tarnish recordings. These new Directrec models are also the perfect input devices for speech recognition. The Olympus DR-2100 USB microphones will be exclusively available at authorised Olympus Professional Line dealers from August 2011.

Recordings can be played back using the integrated powerful speaker and volume can be instantly adjusted directly on the hand unit.

The Olympus Directrec models are designed to enable easy integration in any work environment – no matter if in a doctor or lawyer practice, working in an insurance agency, government office or the law enforcement services. Device Configuration Manager software is available and allows the four designated programmable buttons on the front of these models as well as the one on the back to be assigned specific functions by the systems specialist or user. The remaining buttons including volume controls can also be fully customised, if required, enabling complete systems integration. An improved Software Development Kit (SDK) makes such productivity-boosting customisation possible.
