It has the familar tape style slider switch for recording , FF/RR, and playback but has all of the advanced new benefits that digital recording brings.

The Olympus DS-4000 has a metal body also features a compact, ergonomic form and slide-switch control to enhance usability. The use of XD storage media delivers effectively unlimited recording times and thanks to the super high quality, highly efficient compression DSS file format, you won't have to change cards often.On the 32MB card provided, 5 hours may be recorded in SP mode. If you purchase the extra 512mb XD card from our accessories page then you can record a massive amount of audio.
